Lean Manufacturing Operative Apprenticeship

Level 2 Apprenticeship incorporating the EAL Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing (Knowledge & Skills)

This is a 12 to 18 month programme which is aimed at Production, Quality and Logistics operatives and which will train the recipients to apply a variety of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools, enabling them to contribute to the continuous improvement of their operations.  With groups of operatives on this programme of study, the employer can expect to see significant cost savings through elimination of waste and inefficiencies in processes.

Improvement Technician Apprenticeship

Level 3 Apprenticeship

Industry Approved (National Skills Academy Food & Drink)

This is a 14 to 18 month programme which is aimed at individuals working in any industry sector who are occupied at least for part of their role in Continuous Improvement.  The programme of study focusses around the broad concepts of Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.

Improvement Practitioner Apprenticeship

Level 4 Apprenticeship

Industry Approved (National Skills Academy Food & Drink)

This is an 18 month programme which is designed for individuals working in any industry sector who are occupied for a significant proportion of their working role in leading Continuous Improvement projects and initiatives.  The programme takes a pre-existing foundational level of knowledge and skills in the broad concepts of Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma and advances the recipient to a level where they can work at a high level and engaged cross-functional teams in Improvement strategies.

Improvement Specialist Apprenticeship

Level 5 Apprenticeship

This 24 month programme is aimed at those who are specifically employed as Continuous Improvement specialists (or similar roles) and who work at all levels, including at the strategic level, of an organisation in any Industry Sector.  The programme of study will take the individual to a stage where they are armed with a very broad range of Lean Manufacturing tools and approaches as well as a level of understanding and ability to apply Six Sigma at Black Belt level.

Safety, Health and Environmental Technician Apprenticeship

Level 3 Apprenticeship

This 14 month programme of study is recognised by The Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) as an equivalent to a NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health.  This longer and more flexible approach is aimed at individuals who are already employed, at least in part, in a Health & Safety officer/support officer role.  As well as covering Health & Safety (legal and practice) the standard also includes an introduction to Environmental Management.  The successful apprentice is able to support the application and development of Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems.

Supply Chain Operative/Warehouse Operative Apprenticeship

Level 2 Apprenticeship

This 13 month programme is aimed at individuals being employed to work in supply chain logistics and warehousing operations.  There are two different pathways, the first being aimed at those needing to raise their skill levels in Warehouse Operations and the second being targeted more toward those who support Logistics Co-ordination (e.g. Traffic Office).

Food Process Operator Apprenticeship

Level 2 Apprenticeship incorporating the OAL Level 2 Diploma in Food Operations

This 14 to 18 month Apprenticeship is aimed at those working at the Operator level in Food & Drink Manufacturing.  It is designed to strengthen the depth and breadth of both understanding and skills of those operators and will develop a workforce able to contribute effectively to all of the key functions and strategies of Food & Drink Manufacturer.

Advanced Food Process Operator Apprenticeship

Level 3 Apprenticeship incorporating the OAL Level 3 Diploma in Food Operations

This 18 to 24 month Apprenticeship is aimed at people being employed or indeed developing towards more senior or technical levels of Food & Drink Manufacturing operations.  Covering the essentials at the supervisory level (e.g. Food Safety, HACCP etc) the Apprenticeship is also designed to develop broader skills in Food Science, Plant & Asset Care and Continuous Improvement to name but a few.
